Musicians, sound designers, and performing artists looking for a way to control and recall their modular synthesizer connectors will be thrilled with the erica synths Desktop Matrix Mixer, a 16x16 desktop patch matrix that can route and mix signals with high precision, create buffered multiples and random patches, and interface with external instruments outside of the Eurorack universe.
There are 256 connections, each with three attenuation levels and 254 pattern memories for fast and easy recall. There is a MIDI input that allows the unit to respond to program change messages, allowing for automated patch recall. The Matrix Mixer works with semimodular synthesizers, as well as through adapter cards with the EMS Synthi and Buchla Music Easel. The unit is particularly useful in performances that combine Eurorack and other performance instruments, such as drums, guitars, wind instruments, etc. The Matrix Mixer ships with a universal power supply.
