Description
Description
The Volca Drum provides six parts, each with two layers, from which the user selects any one of 5 oscillator waveforms including sine, sawtooth, and HPF noise. Additionally, the user can select from three types of pitch modulators and amplifier envelope generators, each optimized for drum sounds. Edit layers separately or together while adding bit reduction, wave-folder depth, overdrive, and distortion. A waveguide resonator adds sympathetic resonances to the sound and provides two selected types including tube, which adds the resonance of a cylindrical object such as a drum body or a long pipe; or strings, which adds the metallic resonance of a string.
The onboard step-sequencer allows the user to manually input up to 16 steps per pattern, but also can be used for real-time recording. The pattern chaining function can chain up to 16 sequences to construct patterns with up to 256 steps. Use the motion sequence function to record knob movements during real-time recording and reproduce them during playback. There are a total of 69 different parameters that can be recorded and played back. Additional features and functions include Active Step, which replaces steps for each part; and Slice, which finely divides a step to allow drum-rolls; an Accent function that can be specified in 16 levels; and a convenient Choke function for specific grouping of parts.
The Volca Drum can be synchronized with other Volcas and Electribes via the trigger I/O. Additionally, the machine features a standard 5-pin DIN connector for connecting to other sequencers, allowing the unit to perform as a drum module.

Description | The Volca Drum provides six parts, each with two layers, from which the user selects any one of 5 oscillator waveforms including sine, sawtooth, and HPF noise. |
The Volca Modular utilizes a single part for programming the eight modules in the engine including Source, Functions, Woggle, Split, Dual LPG, Utility, Space Out, and Sequence. Additional features and functions include Randomize, which generates accidental ideas, while two added playback modes, Bounce and Stochastic, makes a round trip through the steps or gradually proceeds while randomly moving forward and backward. Also included are advanced musical scales, keys, and micro-tunings. Choose from 14 types of scales including equal temperament. Since you can also specify the tonic key from which these scales start, you can play these scales in any key. |
The step sequencer is designed for ease of editing and allows 10 individual parts to be inserted or removed on the fly. Sixteen-step keys enter notes while maintaining visual confirmation of the timing of the notes in a measure. A performance can be recorded in real time. Up to 16 of the sequence patterns created can be stored in internal memory. The pattern chaining affords full song creation.
The motion sequence function records any time-varying changes made to the sound using the knob movements. An active step function allows for skipping steps during the sequence, and the step jump function instantly plays just the key-pressed step. A swing function adjusts the swing playback position, generating the distinctive groove of dance music styles. Get off the grid with Start Delay, which creates swings and grooves by delaying parts to deviate from 16 quantized steps. A frequency isolator applies changes to the sound by boosting or cutting the low/high ranges with the isolator implemented as an analog circuit. The built-in reverb effect can be switched on/off for each part, and it is possible to save up to six song patterns, each combining up to sixteen sequences. Additional samples can be recorded and loaded using the Volca sample's dedicated AudioPocket App over USB (the internal sounds are overwritten). |
Powerful sound of analog percussion coupled with an amazing 16-step sequencer is what gives you the possibility to create these smashing drum sequences. Six analog drum parts and four PCM drum parts ensure that you can edit everything the way you want, to infinity. And even though it is an analog drum machine, you will not have to worry losing those amazing sequences, since now you can store multiple patterns for easy recall. Volca Beats can be powered either by batteries or by optional AC power (adapter sold separately). Also, it can be controlled via any MIDI sequencer out there since it has a MIDI input, and if that is not enough, Sync I/O will ensure that you will be able to play in time with Monotribe and Monotron synths. |
Volca Kick confidently provides powerful low end for bass and percussion, so if you are from the dub, hip hop or other bass-heavy genres, this one is definitely a must-have. Producers often use pitch and filter modulation when producing new kick drum sounds, and the Volca Kick makes it easier with just three knobs: Pitch, Bend and Time. This Resonator section will truly enable you to come up with something amazing. The take-home message is clear: with the new Volca, sonic range and possibilities are nearly endless. |
The fusion of a newly developed vacuum tube oscillator with a classic ladder filter volca sequencer makes performing and composing simple and intuitive |
Perfect for both studio use and live performances, Volca Bass gives you three self-tuning oscillators that make sure you keep on punching those fat sounds in perfect pitch and a 16-step sequencer as well, which will be of immense use when building your grooves. Besides, you can connect a MIDI controller (or an external step-sequencer) and synchronise both of them via Sync I/O, which makes for an easy integration into the rest of your gear, especially other Volcas and Korg's Monotribe and Monotron synths. Also, its compact size and battery power ensures that wherever you go, Volca Bass can go with you. |
If you are a fan of analog synths or are just starting out, Korg's Volca Keys packs an interface that you will find astonishingly flexible, all in an extremely affordable and portable box. To make sure the pitch as stable as possible, the 3-note synth has self-tuning analog oscillators and lets you combine those three voices into unison sounds or chords. Also, there is an integrated filter as well as a delay effect and an arpeggiator, and with all of those combine, only the sky is the limit, sound-wise. And no worries if you forget the patterns, since Volca Keys can save up to eight of them for you. Loop and Motion sequencers make your ideas easy to shape on the spot, and with its compact size and battery power, you can play anywhere, anytime. Volca Keys also integrates to your rig very well: MIDI I/O for control via MIDI sequencer, and Sync I/O so you can play in time with other Volcas or Korg's Monotribe and Monotron synths. |
B-stock equipment could have been returned, used as demo or used during photoshoots, so it is visible that the packaging has been opened. Our B-stock gear usually is in ideal condition or only lightly used. B-stock equipment is sold with our 3 year warranty, just like new items.
